Kelloggs – FSDU

Kellogg’s is an American multinational food manufacturing company.

While Kellogg’s is one of the most recognisable breakfast cereal makers in the world and command sufficient shelf space in retail outlets, the promotion of new varieties of cereal often requires additional marketing material.

We worked with Kellogg’s to design and manufacture a free standing display unit (FSDU) to support the promotion of their Crunchy Nut Granola range. As cereal is often one of the larger product items which is purchased, the unit was tall enough to accommodate four rows of product along with the prominent display of their logo on top of the FSDU.


We designed the unit in our Dublin factory and fashioned a steel frame – which was coloured in the corporate Kellogg’s red – to create a sturdy unit which served two purposes. Firstly, it was suitably sized to comfortably hold the required products; and secondly, printed promotional material could easily be slotted in and clipped to the unit’s sides. This promotional material is large enough to be seen from a distance and can be updated to reflect future campaigns thus allowing the FSDU to be reused.

While the red steel complemented their distinctive brand, a white Kellogg’s logo was added to the top part of the FSDU and embedded in a wood-style finish. This effect was repeated at the very bottom of the unit too.

Along the bottom of each row, there is space to insert pricing and promotional details.

Final Result

As a free standing unit, it can be placed in any location in-store. For example, it can be used to sit close to other
in-store promotions which are taking place on traditional shelves or to stand in areas which are separate to the cereal aisle.
